{Arts & Letters} SCERA Theater Field Trip and The Magical Adventures of Merlin

On October 30th the Arts & Letters Committee hosted a children's theater field trip to see The Magical Adventures of Merlin at the SCERA Theater.  Merlin retold the story of King Arthur pulling the enchanted Excalibur sword out of the stone to become king.

78 people attended and the kids were thrilled with the show's magic tricks including fire coming from actors' hands, smoke, falling books, and floating hourglasses.  Add in a snack from the theater, and a Q&A with the cast, and the field trip was an exciting and magical adventure for all involved.

We look forward to our next theater field trip in February!  Thank you Arts& Letters!

{Family Committee} Jakers Pumpkin Patch

It wouldn't be October with a visit to a pumpkin patch! Thanks to Bitsy for organizing such a great day! The weather was perfect, the pumpkins were ready to be carved and everyone had such a wonderful time! Jakers is such a great option because its free to go, you just pay for your pumpkins.
There is a 400lbs pig, a hay ride, a big slide or two, and a BIG corn box (similar to a sand box)

On a chilly October day, we all headed to Sandy and the famous Gardner Village. Why? Well, they have this crazy witch scavenger hunt and we did not want to miss out. We had fun finding all the different witches thoroughly enjoyed our hard-won chocolate chip cookies afterwards.
